Come and learn how to make delicious sourdough bread yourself.

I’ve been making sourdough for family and friends for about 10 years. I’ve taught hundreds of people to make sourdough bread in these beginners workshops.

The workshop includes

• an overview of the history, art and science of sourdough
• how to maintain your own stater
• demonstration of basic recipe
• a hands on experience of shaping and scoring loaves for baking
• taste tests of various types of bread made by tweaking the basic recipe

You will go home with written instructions on maintaining your starter, sourcing flour and a basic recipe, some starter (please bring a clean glass jar to take it home in), a small piece of dough to shape and bake at home, a belly full of delicious sourdough, inspiration, a new skill and a new community of sourdough bakers to be part of!!

This workshop will be in the hall behind the Ithaca Presbyterian church.
